One out six men will get Prostate Cancer at some time in his life – in 2015 over 221,000 cases were diagnosed and an estimated 27,500 men will die from Prostate Cancer (National Cancer Institute) – more cases than women with breast cancer. Long Island Cruizin’ For A Cure is a collectibles car event whose mission is to raise money for Prostate Cancer testing, education, and research. The PSA screening done at the 2016 event (345 PSA tests given) identified 21 potential cases of Prostate Cancer…
WE SAVED THE LIVES OF THESE MEN!
Since our inception in 2006 we have provided more than 3000 free tests, identified one hundred forty seven (147) potential cases of Prostate Cancer and raised the level of awareness of countless thousands more men! Since 2012 we have donated $100,000 to Prostate Cancer research on Long Island.
Our 2017 event will be held Sunday September 10, 2017 at 1400 Old Country Road, Westbury NY - directly off the Old Country Road West exit of the Wantaugh Parkway.
None of the money collected goes to a car club, a promoter or individual or for administrative overhead. All the proceeds (after event expenses) go to Prostate Cancer testing provided free at our event, to research, and to our Corporate Lunch & Learn Education program. Since 2016 we have given more than $100,000 to Winthrop University Hospital for Prostate Cancer research.
Most men say “it won’t happen to me” or “I will do it next week”. Next week could be too late. PSA testing is quick and painless and it could save your life!
“I know because it saved my life in 2004!”
